What We Believe
Current Statement of Faith

In December 2016, we approved our new statement of faith.  The MBC Confession of Faith is largely based on the 1833 New Hampshire Confession and to some degree the 1689 London Baptist Confession. We believe these most adequately describe who we are and what we teach.
Click on any of these creeds to read them.

We also offer an annual 9-week Bible study class entitled, “What We Teach.”  This gives everyone a chance to better understand the Biblical reasoning and foundations for what we do here at MBC.

To Know the Word, Obey the Word, and Proclaim the Word

This simple phrase has become a sort of tagline for our church body. The Bible says that the church exists to be a “Pillar and buttress of the truth;” that God, “of His own will, brought us forth by the word of truth;” and Jesus Himself prayed for all believers saying, “Sanctify them by the truth, Your Word is truth” (1 Tim. 3:15, James 1:18, and John 17:17, ESV).

Therefore, we do not believe the power of transformation is in church programs, events, innovation, marketing, and certainly not, “in ourselves.”  No, the power of salvation and change is in the Word of God.  Therefore, we seek to saturate everything we do with the Word of God.  If you would like to listen to some examples of our pastors’ expositions from the Bible, click here.

What to Expect
on Sunday

As you might expect in Hawaii, our church is a body made up of many different ethnicities, colors, and cultures.  At the last count we had over 50 different nations represented in our church body!  We gather together to equip one another through faithful exposition, grateful praise, and cheerful fellowship of, by, and in the Truth of God’s Word.

Come on the Lord’s Day and you will find a warm, welcoming group of Christ-followers focused on singing and studying God’s truth revealed in His Word.  Get involved in a family group (held in various homes around the island midweek in the evenings), and you will engage in meaningful relationships that will help you live out the Word of God in your daily life.
